How did you decide the trailer length and how did you plan to stay under 3500kg?
I reckon by my estimated you’re right on the mark – 6 to 6.5m is about as big as the built length of the trailer can be and stay under the weight limit. Keen to hear your thinking. Thanks for posting.

Hey Jonathan. We set the size mainly based on what we thought would be a good amount of living space for two people that would also allow us to include some really nice design features and not be too limited on space. The 3500kg’s is a tough one, and we have had to be very selective of the materials that are going into the house, taking the weight of every single item into consideration.

    Thanks Bryce

You guys are a real inspiration I’m currently looking at building something on an intermodal base for me and my 2 daughters because of the remote location I will be going to I will transport by Hiab and place it on a wheeled cradle on site. I figure I’m going to have to do some kind of pop up roof design because to transport by Hiab I still have to stay under the magical 4025 height limit. I just need to find out how the typical Hiab is?

Looking forward to updates as you go.

    Hi Bryce
Fabulous website. How big is your trailer and would you mind saying what it will cost?

    • Bryce

Hey Steven! Thanks! Our trailer is 6.65 meters x 2.4 (this gives enough room for the cladding on the outside, without becoming an oversized trailer). We are still adding a few little features (as we are trying out a few things in this build) but as soon as we have a final cost, I will share it on our website. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for the thorough job of showing us what you are doing. I for one really appreciate the level of effort put into your videos.
