Floor Installation Time Lapse Video

Hey team! It’s a really exciting time for us, as our Tiny House Build is officially underway. This weekend we were working hard with the building team from Bio Build installing our beautiful, sustainable and light weight Lawson Cypress floor from St Lukes Timber (who were even kind enough to let us use their workshop).

You may notice that the galvanised steel sheet at the base, and the insulation are still missing at this point. These items will be added later on, allowing us continued access to the trailer throughout the build.

Next week we have a video coming out which details the floor installation and takes you through how it was done step-by-step, so make sure you’re following us on Facebook and subscribed to us on YouTube for updates!

Wondering what insulation you are going to put into your floor cavity at the end?

The way you have done your floor is WAY WAY simpler than most of the floors I see online in the US Tiny House builds. They build subframing on the frame of the trailer, put down plywood, then wooden flooring on top…all very complicated and reducing overall height.

Yup, our floor has been designed to maximise the amount of height we can get in the house. We’re using a high quality recycled polyester insulation called GreenStuff in the floor.
